Prepping for THE Trip

I don't know if I mentioned this or not, but I got one of the best Christmas presents a fashion lover could ever ask for (thank you Aunt Lisa)
A trip to the one and only Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
In the New.York.City.

Excited doesn't een begin to describe it. I apologize in advance for rants between now and then.  I don't know where to start with plans, itineraries and most importantly- outfits.
The most important items on my shopping list prior to the trip?
Leather and fur.

Please, please, please send any tips your find my way!

always,
xoxo

Monday Round 2

Life has a funny way of never going as planned. Like how I accidentally forgot to schedule my post for Friday? This weekend was the perfect medicine to a long week.

Florida brought us sunny blue skies and everyone was outside to enjoy.

My weekend consisted of catching some rays, hitting the gym and with dinners all with the girls, midnight cookies and funny movies.

Top it off with a homemade strawberry cake from the boyfriend and call it a much needed break.

And here is a little something that has been heavy on my heart this last week:

I am a planner. I am extremely stubborn. Lately I've been dreading reality: the present moments, and the future ones.
I have to fully accept that despite my heart and my plans, ultimately- my future is planned by Him. Sometimes His plans are not mine, no matter how much I want them to be. I am learning to trust in Him, no matter how hard it is.

I know this is too deep for a Monday morning, but lets start it off right!

Lively

When thinking of who I want to be like I think one name first everytime: Blake Lively.

I mean is there a flaw in her somewhere?

Blake is perfectly fashionable and always looks happy.

I mean, she got Ryan Reynolds for crying out loud!

I think the thing that makes her stand out the most is her quiet confidence. She isn't afraid of what others think, but she doesn't try to act like she is better than anyone.

Isn't it funny how we so long to be someone else? Blake Lively is just the first person on my never-ending list. Why can't we just be satisfied with who we are? Because we are constantly trying to better ourselves. We look up to people we think "have it all" and possess qualities we want to see in ourselves.

There's nothing wrong with admiration though.
